Manchester City have done it yet again, now making history as the first club in Premier League history to win the league four times in a row. Despite stiff opposition from Arsenal, Man City retained league supremacy in an epic final-day performance. Here’s more.

4 Times the Champ! Man City Retain the English Premier League Title for a Record-Breaking Fourth Time in a Row

The night was shaping up to be ridiculously intense but it seems that Pep and his boys were ready to reclaim their Premier League title without a doubt. Man City were facing West Ham in their last game of the 23-24 season and things started going right for them early on.

Foden Brace Seals Title Victory for Manchester City

Man City seemingly had a card up their sleeve the whole time, with the remarkable Phil Foden who stepped up and scored a brace for the champs. Foden opened his scoring very early in the game, on minute two, before adding a second in the 18th minute. Mohammed Kudus, with a beautiful shot, scored West Ham’s only reply goal. The game ended 2-1 in favor of City, effectively winning them the league.

City were definitely in need of a win, as a draw or loss could have thrown them off and given competitors Arsenal a chance at the title. And boy did they win. They finished first in EPL 23-24 with 91 points, trailed by Arsenal who came second with 89 points. Liverpool came in third with 82 points, and a stellar performing Aston Villa came in fourth with 68 points.

Man City’s Woes

Despite being crowned champions, Manchester City are in hot soup, having been found to have breached over 155 league rules, especially regarding the Premier League’s financing rules. City, as a club, now has a tough task – trying to clean up their corporate act and bring back faith that there’s no favoritism in the league. Of late, numerous teams and players have come out criticizing the Premier League for its seeming preferential treatment of Man City, one of the world’s richest football clubs.

Well Done Arsenal, Well Done

On their part, Arsenal were up against Everton, who they beat 2-1. Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu opened the scoring for ‘the Gunners’ in the 43rd minute before Kai Havertz volleyed in their second in the 89th minute. Everton’s reply goal came from Idrissa Gueye, who scored in the 40th minute.

Things had been going phenomenally well for Arsenal until the last few gameweeks when Man City caught up, hugely thanks to a few games-in-hand due to past postponements. Arsenal now have to swallow the bitter pill but I am sure they’ll come back stronger next season.

It was a campaign to be proud of for @Arsenal

Poor 8th: Manchester United Finish the EPL 23-24 in a Poor Eighth Place

As a Man United fan, I am super disappointed that my team, Man United, finished 8th in the Premier League with a mere 60 points. Man United played Brighton on the final day and beat them 2-0. Diogo Dalot opened the scoring for United in the 73rd minute, with Rasmus Hojlund taking the initiative and doubling their lead in the 88th minute.

Man United have had such a lukewarm season that I think the team needs an entirely new approach to management or even to sack Erik ten Hag. Here’s what he had to say after United beat Brighton:

A message from the boss for the best supporters in the world #MUFC || #BHAMUN

Should Manchester United Sack Erik ten Hag?

I think it’s a bit early to talk of ten Hag’s departure but I think with such a poor performance, anything’s on the table, as long as it will result in a positive change in the club. I think the management of United should take a brave step, maybe even firing Erik ten Hag, to bring the team back to its feet. The other option is letting the club follow Chelsea’s path and drop off the league’s top 10, which is unacceptable if you ask me.

Golden Boot Winner

The golden awards for PL 23-24 went to “goal machine” Erling Haaland, who bagged the Golden Boot, David Raya, who won the Golden Glove, and Ollie Watkins, who won the Playmaker’s award.
