EPL Gameweek 13 Results – Manchester United Draw Chelsea as Nottingham Forest beat Liverpool

EPL Gameweek 13 came and went like a breeze. Starting with a bang, EPL GW 13 kicked off with Nottingham Forest beating Liverpool 1-0 in what was a shocking loss to Jurgen Klopp’s side. Then came the elephant of all matches when Manchester United faced off with Chelsea. Chelsea almost took the day but Casemiro scored his first goal for United which equalized and ended the game 1-1.

What’s Up, Klopp?

Something is going awry at Anfield and Liverpool need a quick resuscitation before things get too bad to repair. Liverpool’s loss was made even worse when manager Jurgen Klopp said that Liverpool “cannot compete at the same level” as Nottingham Forest. I mean, Klopp, are you serious? What’s up?

Liverpool Need a Miracle ASAP

A team that was the defending champion last season being beaten by a newly promoted team is such a shame, to be honest. Liverpool have no business being beaten by Nottingham Forest. Taiwo Awoniyi scored their goal. Not that Nottm Forest are not a respectable team or good enough but Liverpool have far more capability in terms of the talent and resources at their disposal.

A Man United that Needs Casemiro

A lot has been going around about United’s new Brazilian signing Casemiro, but their game against Chelsea was proof enough that indeed United need Casemiro. Things were bad for United, despite a good performance, in their face-off against Chelsea and Casemiro was the perfect card for United to pull out their sleeve to make sure they didn’t lose the game and at least collected a point.

A Not-so-Lethal Chelsea

Chelsea have been a lethal team since the 2010s and some might argue even since the 2000s. Even so, their not being able to beat United hands-down is a sign that they are not so lethal anymore. Don’t get me wrong, as a United fan, I acknowledge that United did play well but Chelsea could have done much better. Chelsea’s lone goal was scored by Jorginho. I even wondered whether their sacking of Thomas Tuchel could have had a negative impact on their game and quality of play.

Arsenal Draw Southampton

Another of EPL Gameweek 13 surprises, Arsenal, who have been leading the league table so far, drew 1-1 with Southampton. Arsenal have had quite a stellar start to this EPL season and it’s unfortunate to see their brazen run come to an end. Arsenal’s goal was scored by Granit Xhaka while Southampton’s was scored by Stuart Armstrong.

Tottenham beaten by Newcastle

Newcastle beat Tottenham 2-1, in a shocking loss for Spurs. Tottenham have been doing quite well this season and it’s unfortunate that they could get themselves nicked by Newcastle. Newcastle’s goals were scored by Callum Wilson and Miguel Almiron while Harry Kane scored Tottenham’s only reply. Did Conte’s magic stop working?

Other EPL Gameweek 13 Results

In other EPL GW 13 Results, Everton beat Crystal Palace 3-0, Man City beat Brighton 3-1, Leicester beat Wolves 4-0, as did Aston Villa who beat Brentford 4-0. Fulham beat Leeds 3-2 and West Ham beat Bournemouth 2-0.
