Arsenal have suffered their first defeat after a long run of wins and draws and had to play second fiddle to Manchester City at Etihad Stadium. Arsenal suffered a scathing 4-1 defeat against Manchester City, narrowing their lead in the EPL Standings and giving Manchester City a much-deserved shot at the top spot. Here’s how EPL GW 33 results are shaping up.
Arsenal Suffer Scathing Defeat Against Manchester City
Arsenal suffered their first defeat in a long while after being beaten blind by an ever-strong Manchester City. Manchester City floored them 4-1, in what was a game of the raging bull vs a drunk matador (with City as the raging bull).

Arsenal didn’t play well at all and it is almost a miracle that they were only two goals down by halftime. Mikel Arteta’s boys seemed to have their heads in the sand, looking for a way out. Man City, on the other hand, were in total control and kept going for goal like that raging bull would for a matador.
Kevin De Bruyne Brace as Man City Floor Arsenal
Kevin De Bruyne scored a fantastic brace as Manchester City went on to floor Arsenal. De Bruyne scored the game’s opener in the 7th minute and followed it up with his second in the 54th minute.
John Stones also saw the back of the net in stoppage time before halftime with Erling Haaland scoring Man City’s fourth in stoppage time. Haaland has so far scored 33 Premier League goals and 46 goals in all competitions. Arsenal only managed one reply goal which was scored by Rob Holding in the 86th minute.

Arsenal Now Likely to Lose EPL Title Lead
Things look really dim for Arsenal’s title hopes and Manchester City, now with 2 games in hand, look to have taken control of the Premier League Title race. Arsenal are now leading with only two points with Manchester City at an advantage as they have played two games less than ‘The Gunners’. If the performance of recent weeks is to be considered, Man City will likely win both games and upend Arsenal’s lead in the EPL Table. Arsenal now have 75 points with Man City having 73 points.
“We were beaten by the better team. We were nowhere near our level.”
“We’re not going to give up. There are five games to go in this league, anything can happen.”

EPL GW 33 Results: Chelsea Defeated by Brentford
Chelsea suffered yet another embarrassing defeat, this time to Brentford who beat them 2-0. Chelsea even handed Brentford the first goal after a Cesar Azpilicueta own goal in the 37th minute. Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo finished the job with Brentford’s second goal in the 78th minute. We didn’t expect much from Chelsea anyway, but a defeat by Brentford just says a lot about their flailing quality or lack of quality altogether.
Liverpool Beat West Ham
Liverpool seemed to be trying to recoup however many points they can after they beat West Ham 2-1 in EPL GW 33. Lucas Paqueta put West Ham ahead in the 12th minute but Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo quickly scored a reply goal in the 18th minute. Liverpool’s Joel Matip broke the deadlock with their second in the 67th minute. The performance was satisfactory for Liverpool, even as they could have done much better a season or two ago.
Other EPL GW 33 Results
In other EPL GW 33 Results, Nottingham Forest beat Brighton 3-1 and Leicester City drew 1-1 with Leeds United. Aston Villa beat Fulham 1-0 and Wolves beat Crystal Palace 2-0. They are still three games to be played for EPL GW 33 and these are Southampton vs Bournemouth, Everton vs Newcastle, and the one we are really anticipating, Tottenham vs Manchester United. Stay tuned for results on those games.
