The second last gameweek of the English Premier League, EPL GW 37 just got underway and Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool fell short as Manchester United bagged a crucial win. The league is coming to an end after one more gameweek and we can now confidently say that Man City is the EPL 22-23 winner.
EPL GW 37 Results: Arsenal Fall Short, Handing Manchester City the EPL 2022-23 Title
Arsenal fell short in today’s game against Nottingham Forest, losing out 0-1. Arsenal’s loss is momentous as it means that they now cannot catch up with Manchester City, effectively handing City the EPL 2022-23 title.

Arsenal, with just one game left, cannot catch up to Manchester City who have three games in hand. Man City have 85 points at the top of the EPL table with Arsenal second having 81 points. Even if Arsenal won the remaining match, they would still fall short and only have 84 points.
Taiwo Awoniyi Puts Nottm Ahead in Another Great Performance
Taiwo Awoniyi put Nottm Forest ahead in the 19th minute, marking another great performance from him. Nottingham Forest are now 16th in the EPL Table with 37 points and have avoided relegation.

Tottenham Lose Out to Brentford with their Top Four Hopes Dashed
Tottenham were also having an incredibly bad day as their top-four hopes were dashed by their 1-3 loss to Brentford. Things got pretty nasty for Tottenham after Brentford came from behind to clobber them 3-1. Tottenham are now eighth in the EPL Table with 57 points and with just one game left, cannot get to the top four. Harry Kane opened the scoring with Spurs’ lone goal in the 8th minute.

Brace for Bryan Mbeumo as Brentford Dash Tottenham’s Top Four Hopes
Nottingham’s Bryan Mbeumo then followed Kane’s goal with a brace, scoring his first in the 50th minute and then his second in the 62nd minute. Yoane Wissa finished the job with Brentford’s third in the 88th minute. Brentford are now ninth in the EPL Table with 56 points.

Lucas Moura Leaves Spurs
Spurs’ player Lucas Moura has officially left the club and played his last game today against Brentford. Moura’s contract has ended and he will now leave the club. A tearful Moura sent his love to the fans and thanked the club for the great opportunity.

Brentford’s Ivan Toney Suspended for Breaking FA’s Betting Rules
Ivan Toney was absent from Brentford’s game today after being handed an eight-month suspension from all football and football-related activity by the Football Association, FA for breaking their betting rules. Toney was also handed a fine of 50,000 Euros.
As per the FA, “Ivan Toney has been suspended from all football and football-related activity with immediate effect for eight months, which runs up to and including 16 January 2024, fined £50,000 and warned as to his future conduct for breaches of The FA’s Betting Rules.“

Toney will only be allowed to return to training with his club for the final four months of his suspension, starting from 17th September 2023. Ivan Toney has been suspended until 16th January 2024 and was found to have committed 232 breaches of FA’s betting rule E8. He admitted to the charges. Read the statement for more details.
Liverpool Draw Aston Villa as they also Lose Out on a Top Four Spot
Liverpool drew Aston Villa 1-1, keeping them further from their goal to reach the top four. At the same time, coach Jurgen Klopp had been banned from the touchline. Liverpool have now lost out on the top four as whilst they are fifth in the EPL Table, they only have one game left, and Man United who are ahead with 3 points, have two games in hand.
Jacob Ramsey opened the scoring, putting Aston Villa ahead in the 27th minute, with Roberto Firmino equalizing for Liverpool with his 89th-minute goal. Liverpool are fifth in the EPL Table with 66 points and Aston Villa are seventh with 58 points.
Liverpool Bids Farewell to Roberto Firmino
Liverpool bid farewell to forward Roberto Firmino who’s set to leave the club after his contract ended. The fans sang praises for Bobby.

Firmino will leave as a free agent and is likely to be picked up by a La Liga club; such as Real Madrid who’ve expressed interest. Liverpool also said goodbye to Milner, Keita, and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Man United Beat Bournemouth, Strengthening their Hold on the Top Four
Manchester United beat Brentford 1-0, bagging the crucial win that will go a long way in strengthening their number four position in the EPL Table. Casemiro put United ahead in the 9th minute with a wonderful overhead kick strike. United have two games left to play and are fourth in the table with 69 points.

Fulham Draw Crystal Palace
Fulham drew Crystal Place 2-2 in EPL GW 37, as both teams put in a good effort to better their seating in the EPL Table. Crystal Palace’s Odsonne Edouard put them ahead in the 34th minute, with Joel Ward scoring their second in the 83rd minute.
Brace for Aleksandar Mitrovic as Fulham Draw Crystal Palace
Aleksandar Mitrovic came to Fulham’s rescue, scoring a brace to equalize. Mitrovic scored his first during stoppage time just before halftime. He then came back to convert a penalty in the 61st minute. Fulham are now tenth in the EPL table with 52 points and Crystal Palace are eleventh with 44 points.

Wolves Draw Everton
In other EPL GW 37 Results, Wolves went on to draw Everton 1-1 as both teams failed to get an up-ahead. Hwang Hee-Chan opened the scoring for Wolves in the 34th minute, with Everton’s Yerry Mina equalizing in stoppage time. Wolves are thirteenth in the EPL Table with 41 points, with Everton seventeenth with 33 points.
