Gameweek 15 of the EPL just wrapped up and it was yet another week of tantalizing football as Tottenham thrashed Newcastle and Bournemouth beat Manchester United. The weekend was on fuego and here’s how it went down.
Tottenham Thrash Newcastle
Perhaps in a testament to Ange Postecoglou’s prowess and his finally settling in at Spurs, Tottenham beat Newcastle a startling 4-1, in what was a match to remember. Destiny Udogie kicked things off for Spurs in the 26th minute, putting COYS ahead.
Richarlison Brace
As if in a stroke of magical doing, Richarlison then came on to score a brace for Spurs, putting in his first in the 38th minute and topping it off with a cherry second come the 60th minute, not long after half-time. At this point, Spurs were now 3 goals ahead to no reply.

Having not gotten enough, Spurs Captain Son Heung-Min came on to convert a penalty in the 85th minute, making it 4-0 for Spurs. Newcastle, on their part, managed to conjure a goal in 90 + 1′ thanks to a fantastic Joelinton strike.
Ange is the Man
Ange Postecoglou is now finally settled in at Tottenham. He’s quite the manager as can be seen in how he’s managed to convert Tottenham from an average team to now a league contender. The 4-1 win against Newcastle, a well-minted and highly-performing team, is yet another decree that Ange is indeed the man. Eddie Howe and his men were caught unawares this time but we are sure they’ll resurge in a big way.
Bournemouth beat Manchester United
In another of EPL GW 16’s thrillers, Bournemouth beat Manchester United 3-0 in a shocking turn of events. It wasn’t long after kickoff when Dominic Solanke converted for Bournemouth, scoring their first goal in the 5th minute. Philip Billing then came on to make it 2-0 in favor of Bournemouth with his 68th minute goal, before Marcos Senesi capped their lead with their third goal in the 73rd minute.

What up, ten Hag?
The game was yet another disappointing home loss for Man United, at a time when the club is seemingly yet to rediscover its smarts. ten Hag has been at Manchester United long enough to have the chance to make an impact but it seems he’s still not gotten into a rhythm that his players can play by. Well done to Bournemouth, someone needs to ruffle the sleeping giant.
Aston Villa beat Arsenal
Far from a home loss, Aston Villa beat Arsenal 1-0 at Villa Park, thanks to a John McGinn goal. McGinn scored in just the 7th minute with Villa managing to hold off Arsenal for the rest of the game.

The game is perhaps the best example that Arsenal are still getting on to building rock-solid consistency but we have no doubt that Arteta will bring the heat in a proper manner and as we expect, in the coming gameweeks.
Everton Beat Chelsea
Another manager whose lacking in consistency is Chelsea’s Mauricio Pochettino as ‘The Blues’ got themselves beat by Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park. Abdoulaye Doucoure opened the scoring for Everton in the 54th minute before Lewis Dobbin made it 2-0 in 90 + 2′. Chelsea couldn’t manage to conjure up a reply goal, much to the dismay of their fans and their manager.

Our analysis here is that yes, Mauricio Pochettino is working on something and it’s fruits have been showing in the last few gameweeks but it is still to be etched in the muscle memory of his players. That is to say, Chelsea are getting there but are still to get in Pochettino’s zone.
