Since United is not short of talent, with the likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Zirkzee, Lisandro Mart\u00ednez and the rest, a player like Rashford would end up on the bench if he does not meet the standard of training and play the coach expects. That is exactly the cause of the \u2018Amorim-Rashford beef\u2019 as some may call it.<\/p>\n The phenomenon is nothing new, however, and even in Man United, it is not that long ago since former coach Erik ten Hag fell out with star player Jadon Sancho. Sancho\u2019s misstep was his bad attitude towards the coach and ironically, he was transferred to BVB and excelled, even advancing to the UCL 23-24 final.<\/p>\n When a new coach such as Ruben Amorim arrives at the club, he expects the players to abandon their own notions of self-grandeur and to get on the pitch running; both metaphorically and literally.<\/p>\n As an individual who\u2019s coached football<\/a> and knows what makes a player really good, beyond the fame and money, Amorim<\/a> expects a certain caliber of worker as he looks for the main characters in his vision squad.<\/p>\n When the coach then comes across a really good player such as Rashford, who has immense potential but lacks the drive to push themselves to be their ultimate self, then he is very disappointed, as is human nature. For Rashford to remain an integral part of Man United, Amorim believes, he must drop his bad attitude and step up to the plate humble, and ready to be molded by him.<\/p>\n It\u2019s gotten to the point that even commentators are saying that Rashford has been conducting a \u2018PR\u2019 exercise in the media since he was benched, saying how much he loves the team. For Amorim, things will change between them only when he himself sees change in Rashford\u2019s training and attitude.<\/p>\n Amorim shared that Rashford\u2019s attitude is not that of a player giving his \u201cmaximum every day\u201d. He further went on to say: “It’s always the same reason: the training, the way I see a footballer should do in life. It’s every day, every detail,” explaining the unavailability of Rashford.<\/p>\n Amorim added, “If things don’t change, I will not change. It’s the same situation for every player, if you do the maximum and right things we can use every player.\u201d<\/p>\n The Man United coach even went as far as to say that he\u2019d prefer the 63-year-old goalkeeping coach over a player that is not giving their all. He said, “You can see on the bench we miss a bit of pace on the bench. As the current transfer window draws near to its close (on Feb 3), sources say that Rashford\u2019s differences with coach Amorim, as well as financial reasons, have pushed him to seek a way out. The caveat, however, is that Rashford is eyeing Spanish-giant Barcelona as his club of choice.
