Ruben Amorim is breathing a huge sigh of relief \ud83d\ude2e\u200d\ud83d\udca8 especially as the boys bagged a momentous, even glorious win tonight against Liverpool. A key win for Man United, today’s triumph is not only a glimmer of hope for the fans, but also a much-needed win for Amorim\u2014as it may just save him his job.<\/p>\n

Manchester United Beat Liverpool 2-1 in A Huge Show of Improvement<\/h2>\n

In one of Man United’s biggest wins in the last two Premier League seasons, the #RedDevils<\/a> stepped up for the second time in a row<\/a>, beat Liverpool 2-1, and bagged a full three points. A huge, huge relief, especially since there’s been endless chatter of manager Ruben Amorim’s hitherto anticipated sack.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s game was a symbol, a candlelight inside a flood of floodlights, a sign that maybe, just maybe, the giant that is Manchester United may yet awake\u2026<\/p>\n

Man United 2-1 Liverpool\u2014Mbeumo and Maguire for the Win<\/h2>\n

EPL GW9’s Liverpool v Man United<\/a> started with a flurry of activity, but there was a glow on Bryan Mbeumo that didn’t take long to materialize. Barely into the second minute of the fixture, Mbeumo had opened the scoring for Man United. Their first strike\u2026<\/p>\n

It was not long before Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo went hunting, only to hit the woodwork twice, but finally getting his chunk of meat in the 77th\u2014and equalizing for Liverpool.<\/p>\n

For a moment, the energy on the pitch seemed to electrify the ball, turning the match into an awkward game of ‘foot basketball’\u2026
\nIn the thick of it, Harry Maguire managed to steal a header, making it a glorious 2-1 for United.<\/p>\n

Tonight’s performance was nothing short of outstanding, as United managed to beat the clinical\u2014even scientific\u2014Liverpool, and better yet at home in Anfield.
\nEven so, Man United remain 9th in the Premier League Table, now with 13 points. Liverpool, have slipped to fourth, now with 15 points.<\/p>\n

Has Manchester United’s Win Against Liverpool Saved Amorim his Job?<\/h2>\n

Tonight’s win may just have saved Ruben Amorim’s job as United’s manager, I feel. An away win against #Liverpool<\/a> is super impressive for any team; but for the long-flailing United to do it, just after an international break, then Santa must have surely come early.<\/p>\n

As a #MUFC<\/a> fan myself, many are the times we have come down hard on Amorim but finally, we can see that there is a method to his tactical exploits<\/a>.
\nA good example is benching United’s most expensive signing in a while, B. Sesko who’s been phenomenal for United, having scored two goals in his first few games for the club.<\/p>\n

Did Ruben Amorim bench him to prove a point, or was he saving him for a rainy moment?<\/p>\n

I’d like to believe that Amorim remained objective and planned his squad specifically for the job at Anfield. And from the results, it seems that he did just that.
\nMoreover, despite the waves of rumors awash on the air waves, I think Ruben Amorim has bought our patience for the next few #EPL<\/a> fixtures. At the very least, he has mine.<\/p>\n

What Changed for Man United?<\/h2>\n

One, the international break has been good for #MUFC<\/a> it seems, and the players were able to find the much-needed hunger to get the 3 points. Moreover, I can sense an air of newness in the club, a sort of freshness. I alluded that United needed to renew their entire approach, and I can somehow see that the message reached home.<\/p>\n

Despite remaining without absolute resolve, Man United played energetically today\u2014a rare phenomenon. There was no sluggishness on the pitch, and everybody did their job, and then some. Take Matheus Cunha and his impeccable missiles to the front\u2026 or Bruno Fernandes’s relentless coordination. Was that De Light going for goal like a Welshman for the pipes?<\/p>\n
