This election was a third-time charm, and Joe Biden has now been projected to win the U.S. election. The election results have been called after Pennsylvania was called for Joe Biden with well over thirty thousand votes. Pennsylvania is Joe Biden’s home state and the state that has handed him the presidency.

Joe Biden is now the 46th President of the United States. Joe Biden only needed 270 electoral college votes to become President, and Associated Press have called 284 electoral college votes for him. The BBC has called the election for Joe Biden at 273 electoral college votes while the incumbent, now former President Donald Trump, only garnered 214 electoral college votes.

Biden: The President with the Most Popular Votes

Joe Biden also made history as the president with the most popular votes at over 75 million votes. The 2020 U.S. election was also one that saw the largest turnout in over a hundred years. The election saw over one hundred million voters cast their ballot in early votes, with tens of millions more turning out on election day.

Biden’s Endorsement of Mail Voting Pays Off

This election was held during a pandemic, and this contributed to the need and preference to use mail ballots for voting. Joe Biden had an advantage due to his endorsement of mail voting, unlike his opponent Donald Trump who discouraged voting by mail. Trump vehemently discouraged voting by mail, saying it would be fraudulent and that it would be marred by fraud.

Trump Likely to Refuse to Concede

Donald Trump is likely to refuse to concede and has already mounted several lawsuits in several states regarding the election results. As Philadelphia Democratic mayor put it, Trump should ‘put his big boy pants on’ and accept his loss and concede.

Trump has been handed everything in his life. He did not even fight the war as he bought his way out of the military draft. His father also paid someone to take his college exams. Donald Trump has never really had any parenting and has had everything in his life handed to him.

Pundit – “The World Doesn’t Revolve Around Him [Trump]”

For once in his life, he will have to swallow the bitter pill and ‘realize that the world does not revolve around him,’ as said by one pundit. Trump’s refusal to concede and his allegations that there was election fraud are also unfortunate as they could stoke violence in the United States. Trump has even gone as far as alleging that some of the votes, ‘illegal votes’ as he calls them, had been cast by people who have passed on. All these claims are false and are just a desperate attempt to save face for Donald Trump.

The Secret Service Puts In Place Security for the President-Elect, Biden

As it stands, the Secret Service has already cleared the airspace around Joe Biden, and he is now secured as a president would be. Joe Biden is the president-elect, and as we speak, even as Trump is still president until January 20th, 2021, Trump is, in a way, a trespasser in the White House. The election will be officially called for Joe Biden, and he is set to make his victory speech. The American people should stay calm and also celebrate in moderation. I would advise everyone to give it some time before going bonkers on the streets. Everyone should stay safe and celebrate healthily.

No Legal Basis for Numerous Anti-Election Result Suits by Trump

Donald Trump and his base will feel like losers and are most probably going to react. As such, stay safe and stay away. The numerous cases filed by Trump’s campaign lack no legal basis and are expected to be kicked out, and the loss will take some time to sink in. It is a glorious day today, and the world will be rid of hate, political partisanship, and hateful rhetoric.
