Arsenal Claw Back League Lead as Manchester United are Nicked by West Ham

Arsenal are slowly clawing back their league lead while Manchester United got nicked by West Ham in the continuing EPL GW 35. Arsenal played really well and have now earned themselves three additional points, trailing Manchester City by just a single point. Here’s how it went down.

Arsenal Claw Back League Lead

In what was a very heated and intense game, Arsenal managed to beat Newcastle United 2-0 and clawed back on lost EPL Table lead with three additional points. Things were looking to go awry for Arsenal in the first minutes of the game, as both teams started with high energy and countless shots. It was, however, Arsenal that translated the energy to goals with a 2-0 win over Newcastle. Newcastle played very well but Arsenal were just the better team.

Martin Odegaard Leading the Way

Arsenal’s captain Martin Odegaard showed exemplary leadership as he led the team to victory. Odegaard opened the scoring for Arsenal with a phenomenal 14th-minute strike, with a deflection later on causing an own goal by Newcastle in the 71st minute to give Arsenal their 2-0 lead.

As a result, Arsenal and now second in the EPL Table with 81 points, just a single point behind Manchester City who snatched league lead from them a while back. Newcastle remain third with 65 points.

West Ham Nick Manchester United

Former Man Utd’s manager, David Moyes secure a home lead with his team West Ham against a Manchester United that seemed out of place and far from top form. United were at a loss, getting beaten 1-0 by West Ham as they continued their sloppiness, losing crucial points at a time when remaining in the top four is becoming continually difficult.

David De Gea Mistake Costs Manchester United Crucial Win

West Ham’s Said Benrahma scored West Ham’s only goal in the 27th minute, thanks to a David De Gea miscalculation that saw the ball ellude him and go into the net. Benrahma’s goal wasn’t packed with that much power and despite De Gea spotting it, he failed to get to it on time, letting it slip through his fingers and into the net.

Despite David De Gea’s recent poor form and mistakes, Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag is adamant that he wants De Gea to stay at United.

Man United Barely Holding On in the Top Four of Premier League Standings

As a result, Man Utd lost out on 3 crucial points, that would have seen them keep Liverpool at bay in the top four of the Premier League. United are now fourth with 63 points in EPL Standings, just a single point ahead of Liverpool who are fifth with 62 points. West Ham are fifteenth with 37 points.
