Arsenal Narrowly Edge Past Everton as a Floundering Chelsea Level with Bournemouth in the Last of EPL GW 5 Games

Arsenal narrowly edged out Everton as Chelsea, who’ve been floundering for a while now, went level with Bournemouth in some of the last of EPL GW 5 games. Arteta came through but Mauricio Pochettino is yet to get his groove on. Here’s how it went down.

A Good Day in the Office for Mikel Arteta: Arsenal Narrowly Edge Out Everton

Today was a good day at the office for Mikel Arteta after Arsenal managed to beat Everton with ‘The Gunners’ doing quite well, and beating Everton at home for the first time in six years. The win makes it 4/5 for Arsenal vs. at home Everton and goes to prove just how good Mikel Arteta is as a manager.

Everton’s Sean Dyche, on the other hand, has failed to make an impact this season, failing to win all of his 5 games thus far, and only settling for one draw. Everton, as a team, are also going through some major changes with a new stadium and talk of new ownership.

Tross…. Trossard

Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard, who was subbed in after a Martinelli injury, put Arteta’s men ahead in the 69th minute, with Everton failing to make a reply goal. Arsenal had a goal from Martinelli before, which was denied due to an offside by Eddie Nketiah who’d assisted that goal.

This win is tremendous for Arsenal at a time when Arteta made a risky decision to do some shakeups in the starting eleven, benching Ramsdale and Gabriel Jesus, the latter of who later came on and had some impact. Arteta is one fine technician, and going by Arsenal’s performance even last season, I’d be keen to watch out for him.

An Unsettled Pochettino: A Floundering Chelsea Draw Bournemouth

In another of the last 3 of EPL GW 5 games, a floundering Chelsea, under seemingly yet-to-settle manager Mauricio Pochettino, failed to upend Bournemouth, drawing them 0-0. Chelsea have for a while now been under the weather; like that coachless spell they had when Graham Potter was kicked out. The team has consistently failed to find some oomph, and it is manifesting even now that their new coach Pochettino is just settling in.

Did Pochettino Ruin His Magic?

I do have a theory, however. Pochettino recently shaved his beard and who knows, maybe his powers were in his facial hair. Regardless, he needs to end his spell of being unsettled and put the boys in line. Chelsea have spent a lot on transfers these past two seasons and it’s time the club enjoyed some return on investment.
