Sunday in match week 8 saw Harry Kane score his 150th Premier League goal seeing him join the 150 Club. Kane’s goal was his seventh in this season of the Premier League and was Tottenham Hotspur’s winning goal against West Bromwich Albion in The Hawthorns. The goal came after numerous failed attempts from Spurs, including a blocked close range-shot from Son Heung-min. West Brom also made a good chance that saw Callum Robinson nearly score. Kane was awarded man of the match, and Spurs are now second on the league table with 17 points.

Vardy’s Critical Role in Leicester City

Leicester City beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 after a penalty from Jamie Vardy at King Power Stadium. The home win is another affirmation of Vardy’s critical role in the team. There were two penalties, and Vardy was only able to convert the first. Wolves’ goalkeeper Rui Patricio saved the second. The win saw Leicester City go to the top of the league table with 18 points.

Man City Draw Liverpool

Manchester City drew 1-1 with Liverpool in Sunday’s most anticipated match at Etihad Stadium. The first goal was from Liverpool and was a first-half penalty that was scored by Mohamed Salah. Liverpool’s lead was, however, equalized after Jesus converted a pass from Kevin De Bruyne in the 31st minute. Manchester City are now in 10th place in the league table with 12 points, and Liverpool have fallen to third place with 17 points, a one-point difference from top-place Leicester.

A Shock Defeat for Arsenal

Sunday’s games ended with a shock 3-0 defeat for Arsenal, who were beaten by Aston Villa. The loss came after Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins scored a brace that followed their first goal by Bukayo Saka at Emirates Stadium. Aston Villa have maintained consequent wins in all of their three away matches. The win saw Aston Villa go up to sixth place in the league table with 15 points, while Arsenal are currently in 11th place with 12 points.
