First UEFA Champions League Trophy for Manchester City

In all their days, Manchester City have never won the Champions League trophy. That changed yesterday as City beat Inter Milan 1-0 in the UEFA Champions League Final to crown themselves with a 3-crystal gauntlet. The journey to the treble has not been easy. Rodri Wins Man City their First UCL Trophy

Man City’s Rodri put ‘The Blues’ ahead in the 68th minute after curving a phenomenal shot that Inter’s keeper Andre Onana only saw after it had gone in. Man City weren’t playing their best football today but pulled through and got the job done. City’s win is a culmination of a decade-long effort that has seen the team soar to becoming one of the greatest clubs of all time. Rodri was also named the UCL Player of the Season. Bravo!

Second Treble for Man City Coach Pep Guardiola

With City becoming the 23rd team to win the Champions League, Pep Guardiola becomes a second-time treble winner. Pep has now gotten the last and most coveted crystal he’s wanted on his gauntlet since joining Manchester City. City have been after the UCL trophy since 1999 and are the first to win it since Chelsea in 2020. Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United have all won the UCL twice.

Guardiola has been very very phenomenal since joining Man City back in 2016. His legacy is now embellished with undeniable glory and he is in many ways the best manager in European and club football. A huge huge congratulations to the boys in blue!
