The last of EPL Gameweek 20 games were just played yesterday seeing Liverpool now topping the Premier League Table after beating Newcastle as Fulham beat Arsenal and Tottenham flourished. Here’s how things played out.

Liverpool Atop the PL Table After Beating Newcastle
Perhaps the most anticipated game this weekend, Liverpool shot up to the top of EPL Standings after beating Newcastle 4-2. The win now sees Liverpool 3 points clear of second place Aston Villa atop the league table with a handsome 45 points.
Salah Brace
While on his way to AFCON, Mo Salah opened Liverpool’s scorecard with a fantastic first goal in the 49th minute before scoring another to make his 4th brace this season. Salah’s second goal was a penalty conversion in the 86th minute, giving Liverpool a much-deserved lead.
Liverpool’s other goals came from Curtis Jones who scored in the 74th minute and Cody Gakpo who scored in the 78th minute.
Poor Run for Newcastle
As for Newcastle, Alexander Isak scored their first goal in the 54th minute, with Sven Botman making it two in the 81st minute. Despite a proper go at a win, Newcastle continue their poor run in the EPL this season, now 9th in the EPL Table with 29 points. Eddie Howe’s boys have been out of it lately, having lost over four consecutive games in the EPL thus far. We aren’t sure what might be ailing the club but we urge Howe and the boys to pull up their socks.
Fulham Beat Arsenal
In another of EPL GW 20’s last matches, Fulham beat Arsenal 2-1, upending the giants’ pristine positioning in the EPL Table. Bukayo Saka opened the scoring for Arsenal in just the 5th minute but Fulham were in for the kill regardless. Raul Jimenez scored their first in the 29th minute, with Bobby De Cordova-Reid scoring their winning goal in the 59th minute.
As a result of the loss, Arsenal now drops to fourth in the EPL Table with 40 points. Fulham, on their part, are now thirteenth with 24 points.
Tottenham Flourish Against Bournemouth in EPL GW 20
Spurs were in for a fantastic new year after beating Bournemouth 3-1 on New Year’s Eve. Pape Matar Sarr opened the scoring for Spurs in the 9th minute before captain Son Heung-Min made it two in the 71st minute. Richarlison wasn’t one to be left behind and scored Tottenham’s third in the 80th minute.
Bournemouth’s Alex Scott scored their only reply goal in the 84th minute. The win now puts Tottenham in fifth place in the EPL Table with 39 points, with Bournemouth a distant twelfth with 25 points.
There’s only one remaining game in EPL Gameweek 20: the clash between West Ham and Brighton. The match will be played today. Stay tuned for updates.
