Man United are the FA Cup 2024 Champions!
In what was a glorious display of ‘still being a club to be mortified of’, Manchester United beat Manchester City 2-0 in the FA Cup Final at Wembley, winning the FA Title for the first time in 8 years and for the 13th time overall.

Future Stars: 19-yr-olds Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo Secure FA Title for Man United
United’s FA Cup win is largely attributed to the team’s future stars i.e., Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo who each put in a fantastic goal to seal United’s win against their nemesis: PL champions Manchester City.
Garnacho opened the scoring for United in the 30th minute.

A Great Future Sealed
Even more exciting is that the level of play and prowess these two – who are graduates of United’s football academy – are showing predicts a great future for the club as they and many others are sure to propel the club to even greater heights.

Unlucky Run for Man City
It’s rare that Man City lose a Manchester derby, especially one as significant as an FA final. Even so, Man City were unlucky this time, perhaps not expecting such great display of talent from United’s fantastic duo, and lost out on a double barely a month after losing out on a treble; after being kicked off the UEFA Champions League.

City only managed a single reply goal against United in the FA final and it was scored by Jeremy Doku in the 87th minute.
Will Man United Sack Erik ten Hag Now that they’ve Won the FA Cup?
Erik ten Hag’s future at United hangs in the balance, especially since the team performed so poorly in the English Premier League finishing eighth. There have even been rumours that the management at United had decided to fire ten Hag regardless of the team’s performance in today’s FA Cup Final.
Erik ten Hag on if the FA Cup final could be his final game: “I have nothing to say. Just focusing on first win the game on Saturday and then the project, keep going with the project”.

Nothing is clear yet, at the moment, but what we do know is that INEOS, the company that acquired a minority stake in Man United and took over control of football operations, is very keen to constitute meaningful change at the club. Whether this will translate to a ten Hag replacement is yet to be seen.
❗️ Erik ten Hag on his future: “INEOS told me that they want to change everything and that they want to rebuild WITH me”.

Raphael Varane Set to Leave Man United
Today’s FA Cup final was also the last game for Varane at United. The defender is set to leave the club after his contract expired. Varane scored two goals in 94 appearances for United. We wish him well.
