Manchester United slipped into mediocrity after they lost out to Newcastle in EPL GW 29. United’s fate was similar to Southampton’s, who also lost out to West Ham. Man United and Southampton are suffering low-quality play and a lack of forthright leadership in their teams. Newcastle and West Ham, on the other hand, were delighted to take advantage.

Man United Lose Out to Newcastle United

Manchester United went on to lose out 0-2 to Newcastle United in EPL GW 29 after failing to utilize their advantage in possession to conjure goals. United had a possession of 54% in the match, compared to Newcastle’s 46%. Newcastle showed really good quality and dominated the entirety of the game, and were rejuvenated once they went into halftime.

Goals for Willock and Callum Wilson against Manchester United

When play resumed, Joe Willock opened scoring in the 65th minute, followed by Callum Wilson who cemented Newcastle’s lead in the 88th minute. The win denied Man Utd, a crucial 3 points, at a time their spot in the top four is in growing danger. Utd showed a lack of leadership in the game, with Bruno Fernandes nearly getting himself carded.

Southampton Lose Out to West Ham United

Southampton weren’t any luckier than Man Utd and themselves lost out 0-1 to West Ham United. Southampton seemed to suffer a low-quality issue just like United while David Moyes’ boys stepped up and took advantage. Nayef Aguerd scored West Ham’s only goal in the 25th minute, via a wonderfully executed header. Similar to Man Utd, they also lacked clear leadership on the pitch.
